Portell signs with Maryville University

Senior, Allison Portell, signed to run both cross country and track with Maryville University on Wednesday, April 12th, 2017. Portell broke the DHS Pole Vault Record in her junior year; she then broke the record twice more in her senior year. First she broke the record at 9ft, and then broke it at 9ft 6in. Portell also competed as a top 300 meter hurdler, with a PR. Of 50.39 seconds. Portell ran cross country for the first time this year and was considered one of the top three runners at the high school. She almost qualified for State Championships, placing 16th at districts! Her PR for cross country is currently 20:56 in 3.1. miles. Congratulations, Allison!
