Dragons News · Breaking Records

Senior Daulton Melton and Freshman Trista Grobe have both already broke a record this track season. Daulton set a new record in discus throwing 154 feet and ten inches. Trista broke the school record in javelin throwing  113 feet and 8 inches. We talked to both Daulton and Trista about their huge accomplishments.

“I worked hard to get it,” Daulton told us. “Last season I was throwing 88 feet, so I’ve come a long way. The record I broke was 148.2 and it’s been the record since 1982. I want to keep trying t0 break my record and hit 170 by the end of the year.”

Trista said, “I worked really hard to do the best I could. It felt really good to break that record. With me being a freshman, I hope to keep breaking my record and hopefully I’ll continue to be successful.”

We are so proud of what these throwers have already accomplished and cannot wait to see what the rest of the season holds for them!
