Coed Varsity Cross Country · Dragon XC Kicks Off Season & Kaempfe Breaks School Record


Saturday evening the De Soto Cross Country team kicked off their season running in the Fort Zumwalt North Twilight Invitational.  In a very tough field of competition the boys team finished 8th (as a team) and the girls finished 7th (as a team).  Individual places included:

Boys: Will Kaempfe (8th), Jimmy Mann (17th), Stuart Thorn (47th), Josh Kaempfe (63rd), Dylan Shelton (90th), Hayden Langston (96th)

Girls: Kayla Vogelsang (13th), Erika Mellor (15th), Jailey Pigg (28th), Taylor Ficke (33rd), Riley Petch (49th), Dominique Mitkos (55th), and Gracie Richardson (75th)

Additionally, at the Twilight Invitational, Will Kaempfe, broke the De Soto High School 5k record with a time of 16:08.10.  The record was previously held by Nathan Henry when he ran a 16:20.13 at the Class 3 District 1 meet at Engler Park in Farmington, Missouri.

The Dragons will compete Saturday September 12th in the Stan Nelson Invitational (no spectators are allowed to attend this event).
